Being new to bonsai, i was thinking i needed fancy, ceramic tiny pots, but i looked at these because of the cost and their size holds more moisture.Don't be turned off by the "plastic" description. They are matte so they don't have a cheap, shiny plastic look to them. They actually have a relatively modern styling and the matte black fits that well. The black is a "warm black." We have 4 of them side by side and they look great with 3 little junipers in them and a deciduous something. They are fairly lightweight but seem sturdy.For the price, it's a great deal from other ones i looked at. I have 2 more that need to be filled! In time... I like that they have a matching tray to keep any accidental over-watering off your furniture.They don't come with screens so you'll need your own to cover their drainage area. There are plenty of holes for running wire up through to hold your tree in place wherever you decide to put it.For what they are and what their price is, I'm happy with my purchase.

I received an Australian Willow Bonzai Tree cutting. Basically it was a STICK! I placed it in a cup of water and after 2 days the roots started growing; after 15 days it started Flowering. 2 days later I potted it with the special Bonzai Tree Soil and food all purchased from Amazon! The results are fabulous! And it has just began to grow!I got the moss that was growing on the lower trunk of an Oak Tree in my backyard!

I am very pleased with these for the price. I started my Bonsai in the Winter and now are ready to pot. The pots are a sturdy plastic and look very nice in my window.

I'm new to bonsai and I'm and having a lot of fun with it but have very little access to good pots so I went on Amazon and I bought these plastic training pots which are pretty cool because they have a little screen built in on the bottom so you don't have to go buy extra screens and the drainage is great. Everything I put in so far seems to be really happy and they look really nice from a distance you can't tell they're plastic. I even gifted one to my daughter because she's also a lover of all things plant and growing.

I'm using these pots for small orchids like mini-cattleyas. They have great drainage and sufficit room for the rhizome to expand without have so much media that they stay wet.

When starting a new hobby I like to start cheap. I can try a few things out and see what I like and don't like before investing a lot of money. These pots are perfect for that.I'm playing around with a few different types of trees and locations in my backyard to see what works and what does not before I invest in nicer pots or nicer plants. These pots are perfect for some new trees and new experiments and they are a good size and shape. Assuming things go well, I'll probably upgrade to some nicer pots but I'm quite happy with how these look right now.I'm not sure how they'll hold up to the Texas sun but if I can get a couple years out of them for the price and purpose they'll be great.

Please do not cost a lot of money at all. The fact that they have drainage mesh built in already is wonderful. Now I need to buy more plants....

I bought these pots as training pots for new Bonsai. The pots are ideal and are well finished, they would be adequate as permanent pots as they look good too. The trays fit very well.
