My grandsons absolutely love this book! We started reading this book when they were 4yo. It has your sight words, numbers, and colors. The repetition is just enough for your little ones to learn the words as they read. The rhythm and rhyming words help the story flow. The boys are 6 now but still enjoy reading this fun and silly story!

Very nice beginners book for the child to read. The pages are not over whelming with lots of sentences. The child feels that they accomplished something by reading the whole book.

My 3yo and 5yo love this book. It's just enough silliness before bedtime. My 5yo is learning to read now, so she likes trying out the words.

I bought this book for my nephew as he loves to read. It is a funny and interesting story with good illustrations.

We love the illustrations in this one - my kids like to count things in the pictures, name colors, and find little details, but there is not much more going for it. There is no story in here. Also, the text has a weird rhythm, especially when you compare it with something like  Llama Llama Red Pajama , that I can recite almost whole after not reading it for a year...Not our favorite.

He loved this one! Great story line when an ice cresm cake turns into ice cream doup! He loved it do much that he decide to select this to read to his Kindergarten class. Great appropriate controlled vocabulary that follows phonetic patterns.

This is one of my five-year old's favorite books. It's a true level 1 reader. Perfect for those just learning to read. Ice Cream Soup you say? This is such a cute book to read. What starts out as ice cream quickly becomes a giant mess. The illustrations just add to this book.

My 5 year old loves this book. I especially ordered this for her because she has started to read and what better way to get them reading. It's a good quality with nice pictures and story.

Could be that my grandson loves to cook with grandma or it could be the whimsical illustrations. Could be the story itself. Could be all of these things. My 3 year old grandson absolutely loves the book and asks to have it read multiple times a day.
