but more importantly I have some extremely annoying co-workers.
I work in an environment that can be very loud at times, but more importantly I have some extremely annoying co-workers....always asking questions, or interrupting my train of thought with their useless blah blah blah blah blah. These hearing protectors have a great noise reduction capability and are just the ticket to completely block out the unwanted noise and annoyances. Even with no external antenna the FM radio on these has far better reception than the last pair of headphones I owned that had a large external antenna. When paired to my phone the blue tooth feature works great. I never miss a call or text or alarm that I set. It audibly tells me what phone number is calling so I can choose to ignore or answer. I can remotely answer using the headphones. I can talk and be heard by the person calling even when I'm in noisy situations. The best thing about these hearing protectors though, is the 4GB music storage. I can load a lot of music into the internal storage and play my music all day. Battery life is reasonable. It recharges just like a phone! The 4 star rating is due to the fact that the minimum music volume is not quite adjustable low enough for my liking. It's just not low enough when it's turned all the way down. I corrected this by taking the muffs apart and adding tape to the foam that goes over the speakers. It worked! The other negative is no AM radio, but you can stream stations though your phone if you want. The biggest draw back by far is that your co-workers will bother you even more than before by asking endless questions about your cool new headphones.1/24/2019 Update: I have had these headphones for well over one year now. During this time I have used them a lot, mostly at work but also at home on weekends. Even though they are not 100% perfect, they are the best thing out there right now and I absolutely love them and recommend them. The noise reduction and FM reception is superior to my old external antenna Peltor set.I use them to listen to my own MP3 music, FM radio stations, and anything that I broadcast from my phone or computer using a wi-fi transmitter. This includes: Youtube music playlists, videos, movies, new or old football games, technical videos, etc. etc. I even use them to listen to required employer safety videos and training. All this - while I am still physically working. So, in a way these headphones have actually made me more productive at work! There is one big problem that keeps happening: Every time I put them on and start listening to something I really want to hear, I get interrupted by a co-worker with some ridiculous question. I swear......It's every time.Anyway, I regularly take them home on weekends and use them while mowing, weed whacking, blowing, chainsawing, etc. They work great for all occasions! In fact, I use my headphones so much that I have begun to wear out the ear seal cushions. The cushions start to lose their cushy feel and begin to collapse and crack with lots of use. This is not abnormal with any muff style hearing protection-they just wear out over time. I contacted the vendor to see about ordering new ear seal cushions. They told me that they presently do not have ear seal replacements but that they are working on it. I like my Gardtech's so much I considered buying another set but then I took my old Peltor set apart and found that the ear seal cushions are nearly the same. So I ordered Peltor replacement seals for $20 and installed them into my Gardtech set. They fit perfectly. Although the Gardtech headphones are not 100% perfect, I am still very pleased with my hearing protectors and recommend them to all.

Not 100% what I hoped for, but easily 90%
The controls leave a bit to be desired- the volume is both the knob and the arrows- which seems odd, but not problematic. I happily loaded a bunch of podcasts and audiobooks onto the onboard SD card, but you’re doomed to pretty much what the SD card ‘wants’ to play- it will play in order that they were put on the card and you can skip forward and back, but if you turn the unit off and back on, it may start the (say, podcast) from the beginning even though you had been 40 minutes into it before. Again, not a dealbreaker but not ideal either. The battery life seemed to be about 16 hours of mixed playback-FM, Bluetooth and SD card.Things I wish they would improve for the next upgrade:1) a way of reviewing and selecting the folders on the SD card for playback. Overall navigation could be more improved.2) a way to resume playback from previous listen.3) a bit more gain/volume. (In a noisy environment some quieter podcast moments were lost).4) i would prefer (and I would think it would extend battery life) to have Bluetooth only enabled when Bluetooth is selected. I don’t want a Bluetooth signal being sent/received while I’m listening to FM or the SD card- though I’m sure some would prefer it the way it is.5) after wearing the headphones for several hours (3+ hours), I notice a slight discomfort with my ears where the padding/speaker has been pressed against my head. It’d be nice to have slightly more room so that my ears don’t rub up against the inside of the headphones or softer padding inside them. The 29dB reduction is fabulous. I work in about 100dB and I upgraded from a 25dB reduction- it’s a noticeable improvement and I’m grateful for the added protection.

Great for riveting and blocking jet noise.
Have had these headsets for about a month. They are comfortable to me. The pads are soft, but I am concerned about replacements, if these last that long. They are large enough to not squeeze my ears. I hate ear plugs, so muffs are the only way to go got me. I found the fm tuning and reception are not the best, and pretty awkward. The internal storage is also lacking, but these are not what I was looking for in my purchase. The noise reduction of 29db and bluetooth are. Which it does well. I can get pretty far away from the phone, before it disconnects. The muffs are not noise cancelling the just deaden the sound, and do it very well. I can barely hear people talking to me even if I'm not playing music. If I am, I am in my own world. The sound to me is clear and pretty good. I don't play it very loud, which IMO would defeat the purpose of wearing ear muffs. I'm still not used to talking on the phone with them on, guess I should have splurged for the ones with a built in Mic. Overall I am pleased with my purchase. I'll probably upgrade to the next higher model if these hold up, and take these home for use on the riding mower.
