Highly Recommended For Super Picky Chickens
These are the only BSF larvae grubs my chickens eat with the same enthusiasm as mealworms. They are much better for your birds so I was very pleased with this outcome. I have tried all the other brands and this is by far the best. The worms are very big and fat and whole. The birds do like mealworms better, but I promise you that if you stop feeding mealworms for a few days to a week and feed these, your chickens will forget about the mealworms and these are so much better for them. Be a good bird owner and feed your chickens the more nutritious choice, just shop around until you find the right brand for your birds. These are great for very picky birds that get spoiled with really healthy and tasty food all year long. My birds wouldn’t even eat mealworms when I first started feeding them because they are free range and fresh grubs are just so much tastier, but as they began to lay and needed the protein and fat and as the cold weather hit and they needed the quick protein and carbs to stay warm through the night, they started eating them. Still, not a lot of excitement over the BSF larvae until I bought this brand. The grubs are much bigger and smell like pork skins. My birds immediately gobbled them down and this was with a bag of mealworms sitting there that they can identify. I decided not to feed the mealworms until I tried these grubs and they really loved them. Your gals need the calcium these grubs offer and I feel better about feeding these than the mealworms because they are so superior nutritionally. I let my birds free range their bugs in the late spring and summer months so these only come out when the bugs are gone, but they kept my birds healthy and warm all winter. Also, molt was a breeze this year, all my birds laid through their molt, which I had read would be very taxing on them. They never looked ratty or bald and their feathers grew in shiny and fast. I also feed my birds fermented scratch, which they absolutely love and which is so much healthier than regular scratch. Please Google ‘fermenting my chicken scratch’ because it’s simple to do and you get far more food from your scratch that is far healthier and tastier. Between that, these grubs and feeding my birds their toasted and crushed eggshells back to them, each day, I get about a dozen eggs per day, every day, from 13 hens. Their production of eggs is amazing and the eggs are huge and the yolks are dark yellow and delicious. Great value, great flavor, great nutrition. Buy these grubs and stick with it. Your birds will thank you with more and better tasting eggs and superior health.

Chickens Absolutely LOVE! Huge help while molting!
My flock of 32 chickens are now molting after enduring a summer drought that killed off many of the bug species they free range for. I was feeding high quality Scratch & Peck brand feed, meal worms and black oil sunflower seeds on top of daily free ranging and my hens were STILL fighting over meal worms as if they were protein deficient. Amazon suggested this product while I was re-ordering meal worms and I decided to try it because the squabbles were getting ridiculous. The chickens LOVE THESE GRUBS! After several handfuls the flock began acting “full” for the first time in weeks, which has not happened even when I fed the same amount of meal worms.I took a picture of the grubs (left) and meal worms (right) on a white plate so you can see that the grubs are significantly larger and fatter than meal worms. I set the plate in the grass and a feeding frenzy ensued! I also threw some on the driveway where it was heads down and tails up while everyone ate quietly. When the grubs arrived, they were vacuum packed in a bag with oxygen absorbers, which I appreciated. This means they will keep fresh longer. I’m very pleased and will continue feeding these through the fall and winter!Update: I’m seeing good shell strength even though I have run out of oyster shell and continue to be pleased with these grubs! Have ordered them twice now and plan to keep feeding them.

Made in the USA, sustainable, quality grubs and the girls love it!
Update: while four our my chickens love this treat, the fifth won't eat them, but when I pull out another brand, she'll eat them. Kinda bummed. The rest of my review still stands. This bag-o'-goodies came stuffed to the zip-closure full of intact, uncrushed delicious goodness for my girls who gobbled them up. I love that they are made in the USA using sustainable means. The grubs weren't broken up, which is a plus. Great product; I will definitely purchase these again. Thank you!

Sugarbear tested, Owner approved
I have two sugar gliders and these are their favorite foraging food. Between these grubs, yogurt drops, and dried fish sticks, they reliably select these and seem pretty happy with them, so I'm assuming they rate it at a 5 star.Did you know these grubs have an Expiration Date? About a year, apparently. Mine's in the red portion of the back of the bag, near the Ingredients list, and I replaced my previous bag with these when I learned it was expired. They came in with plenty of time, and quickly. And now, I have happy crows in the neighborhood, too.
