Kitchen Gizmo 4-in-1 Avocado Slicer Stainless Steel - Cut, Pit, Slice and Mash Avocado - Guacamole Made Easy

This device is very easy to use. So far, I've only applied it to five avocados. I'm very clumsy and a horrible chef. Suffice to say, if I can use this item effectively, then just about anybody can. get the most out of this product, Every individual avocado that I've sliced has come out as two clean cut halves. I can easily convert an avocado into guacamole within between half of or three quarters of a minute. The design is cool in that it somewhat resembles a shark. The blades aren't super sharp and narrow to the point that if accidentally touched, fingers will bleed profusely and have to be amputated. For an adult to cut themselves with this, they'd have to do it on purpose. But do allow the vegetables that you dissect to sit for a couple of days. The first avocado that I applied this device to was too ripe. As a result, the "pitter" became loose when it was clamped down onto the large wooden knob like seed, as it was nestled unflinching, in the nucleus of the very thick green "vegetable-meat". However, It is not broken, but is now "detachable". It can still be placed back firmly in it's slot, and the device still functions perfectly. It is certainly better than the butter-knife / plastic spoon that's liable to break "tag-team." There is still somewhat of a problem with guacamole changing color from green to beige/brown. A representative from the company that manufactures this product relayed to me that that is a result of "oxidation". I put this guacamole into an air tight bin as soon as it's prepared, so I'm still annoyed by this occurrence. I've never seen brown guacamole at "Quizno's" ? Maybe they throw out what ever is left at the end of the day? In any case, as long as the blades themselves don't turn brown, this is a product I will continue to use. It does every thing that it's promoted as doing.

This did not work for me. It did what it said it would do, but I felt it was not worth my time, and it would end up in the junk drawer, so I sent it back. First, the cutting edge was not as sharp as I like, and did not allow me to make a clean equal cut around. The seed puller worked, but was awkward and it would fall out, if you did not fully retract it back. I think there should have been a stop to keep it from falling out. The scoop and mash was useless, because I never scoop or mash. So, I went back to a large sharp knife, and it was a lot simpler to me.

It's great at slicing and scooping but it's hard to use the pit remover and it's masher is pretty weak for making guacamole, so I still use a potato masher for that. Overall it works well and I have less tools to clean at the end. And it looks like a shark :)

The scoop part works well but I find myself still using a spoon and knife. I have not mastered removing the pit with this so perhaps I'm doing something wrong. Overall, it's okay for the price but I probably wouldn't recommend to a friend.

I was given this "gizmo" as a gift. For years I used a knife and spoon. This all-in-one works just fine, I just think a knife and spoon work just as good. If you like all-in-one gizmos, then this item is for you.

Eat an avocado almost everyday for lunch, this worked a lot better than I expected... no more avocado fingernails trying to separate the skin.

This is the 6th 4-in-1 Avocado Slicer I have bought. Whenever a friend sees me use it they want one so now I just keep getting them for friends. I never liked using a knife to remove the avocado pit and like the way this tool solves that problem. Kids can use this tool easily and safely.

Nice that this is an all-in-one gadget, but the guard for the slicer is difficult to put on and the yellow pit holder doesn't work very well and keeps sliding out of the tool.

Bought this to replace a plastic one that we gave to a friend. This one is OK but it's nigh on impossible to use the masher part. Have resolved to getting a fork out. And now bought another plastic one that works so much better. This one is off to the charity shop.
