Lobster Is the Best Medicine: A Collection of Comics About Friendship

Climo's comics combine the sheer cuteness of her drawing with wonderful jokes and puns. Many of them involve lateral thinking and curious consequences of animals behaving like people. Most are light hearted, but she does not avoid joking about shrimps about to be eaten by huge whales, a vulture pecking at a pig (who turns out to be sleeping) or suicidal lemmings. And many are about nothing else than pure cute, especially in this volume, which is dedicated to friendship and just how nice friends can (should?) be.She does publish many of her comics on her Tumblr, which could make buying her books somewhat unnecessary. But I really think her books are worth having, and serve as wonderful gifts - give the power of cute!

Gifted this book to friends and my now former boss who was let go due to budget reduction (and new CEO). Everyone has LOVED this book and told me they are buying multiples copies as well to gift. Liz Climo's comics are so uplifting and encouraging (she has FaceBook and Instagram accounts).

Quirkily funny and dangerously cute: the only problem is that this book might be even more enjoyable for adults than for kids... So don't hesitate to read this even if you do not have the excuse of having children in your household. Or give it to your adult friends, as I defy anyone not to enjoy and smile at these little gags and puns.Note: I purchased the Kindle version which looks great on my Fire HDX, but it's also easily readable on my smartphone (using the Kindle reading app).

Liz Climo's artwork is adorable. She has a fantastic sense of humor and if you can page through this book without cracking a smile, I think you might want to see a doctor because something must be wrong with you.Each page contains a comic, some with recurring characters, some not. They're all capable of being enjoyed individually, but I can't imagine someone stopping after just one page. The jokes are also very family friendly, meaning you can keep this out on your shelf for everyone to enjoy. And enjoy they will.

I bought this as a gift for my best friend who was studying abroad and feeling lonely without his usual support system. This book cheered him up and he’s always sending me pictures of his favorite panels from it. It’s perfect for any age and a great gift for someone who is far away and needs a bit of comfort.

Charming book, came quickly, like new but with a remainder mark. I am very pleased with the seller and this purchase. It contains so many sweet cartoons about friendship, some funny, some simply endearing. Perfect to give to a friend whom you appreciate.

Great book for a friend or coworker or even a family member. It is sweet, cute to read, and has a substantial number of comics for the price. Great for a simple “I’m thinking of you” type of gift.

I have bought 4 of these so far! Two for my best friends (when they have moved out of our shared student accommodation), one for myself (when I was feeling lonely without them) and one for my mom (when she was sad because her cat has passed away). Even though all the situations and personalities of us highly differ, the book has suited all of us perfectly as it is just a perfect representation of a real friendship, that warms your heart, makes you laugh and reminds you of your friends.

I bought this for a friend who is a fan of Liz Climo and she loved it. I had a look through before I wrapped it as well :) I liked the fact that it included a little stroy on how she first started drawing, and the chapter headings. It made it more special, when you could just view the cartoons for free on IG or elsewhere. A great gift.

These are such gentle comics, with lovely messages of friendship and love.The illustrations are brilliant, with emotions and expressions captured in simple but effective strokes.This book would be a great gift for anyone you care about - I know I will buy it again for friends and family.

Bought this as a Mother's Day gift as I loved the panels and artwork. My Mum really loved it and it's such a great book that I'm looking at getting it again.It's a nice hardback book which looks incredibly beautiful and stylish. Very happy with this purchase!
