Very strong magnets!
What can i say? These are magnets and they are strong. I made the mistake of testing one on my cast iron fire (unlit) and had to wait for my husband to come home to pull it off again!Perfect for those times when you drop a tool overboard (provided it's magnetic) or just for sweeping an area for dropped screws in grass.A good item to keep in the garage for those moments when a strong magnet is the thing you need.Nicely made. Smooth edges.

Super strong, good finish as well.
This pair of magnets come boxed with one assembled already and one to make yourself. There's a small plastic washer between the magnets to make them easy to part.Firstly, these are Neodymium magnets, which means keep your fingers away from them and whatever they are attracted to. It's easy to pinch your skin even with small ones, and these are big boys. It's nice that you have M8 fixings, as it means you can adapt them as required. You don't need to use the supplied hook if you have other uses for them.I attached one to a 50KG weight (the largest barbell weight I had) and I lifted it without fear of it coming loose. The 80KG force is most probably attainable. I'd hate to have to use that to pull it off something immovable on a river bed though, so you need a strong rope and a bit of muscle if you're going to use these for metal fishing.Finish is thick and should take a fair few knocks.

Good quality
Strong and good quality but would not even near to the names 80kg strength.

Heavy Magnets - Powerful
THese are pair of very powerful magnets, neodymium and should not be used anywhere near sensitive areas such as pacemakers, credit cards, phones or hard drives etc and please dont ever have them together, and whatever you do don't trap fingers in between them as they will break them! (your fingers that is!) Don't ever allow babies and kids to play with them as they are not a toy. They are shipped in protective foam packing and have a plastic ring between them, during shipping. Make sure you have a suitable place for storing them so they can be retrieved and used properly. One is built already, the other magnet you will have to screw together yourself before using.THey are very powerful and can lift up to 80 Kgs in weight pulling power. Very good for fishing metal or keys from drains or retrieving that bicycle from the canal!

Small and Mighty.
Good grief! For their size these are very powerful magnets. They are quite heavy but containing iron they will be. Three coats of additional material including Nickel gives them their appearance. One arrives complete, the other requiring a little assembly, this is due to the small packaging size. The packaging has been well thought out to keep them from surface damage and from colliding with each other in transit.I wondered why two? Having read the instructions, magnets are prone to chipping and as a result may corrode in time. What a great idea providing a second?I once dropped something metallic in a canal and wished I had a magnet to hand.Keep these away from electronic devices and credit cards with magnetic strips.

Small magnet
80KG is not a lot of pulling power, many of my other magnets can pull several hundred kg so these are fine for younger or smaller magnets for fishing with.As well as for fishing with I often use magnets to temporarily hold cabling out of the way with a cable tie through the ring, it does the job really well in some of the venues I work in with metal beams to stick them to.

Despite looking fairly innocent these are surprisingly strong magnets. It’s impossible to resist trying them when you first have them and like me you’re certain to have a look of horror on your face when you think they’ve become permanently attached to that innocent steel surface you’ve just ‘tested’ them on. They arrive as a pair in one box, with one complete and the other in need of simple assembly to fit the handle. They are relatively small (48mm) but solid items with a ring attachment where thin rope (or similar) can be threaded for use, and they’re very effective on ferrous surfaces, especially the more solid ones like radiators and panels. Just rinse them clean and dry them off afterwards if you're going to get them wet - recommended.

Small, but incredibly strong when stuck to bare steel
Initially, I wasn’t that impressed with these, they looked too small to be that strong. I stuck them to my fridge door and it grabbed instantly, but a slight sideways pull and they both popped off with little effort. The door is coated in a layer of some sort of plastic and I have no idea what the quality of steel is like behind this, so I thought perhaps it was an unfair test. In my garage I have a steel lintel running over the main door. I popped one of the magnets on and expected it to pop off. It was stuck fast. I tied a rope to the eye and hoisted myself up and it held fast, fully supporting my body weight. Next I had to drag the magnet to the edge of the lintel where I could lever it and overcome the hold.I found that on a perpendicular pull the magnet was held fast, but it you get some leverage onto the side it will break free with hand strength.I ventured down to my local canal bridge (more likely to find stuff thrown over) and did a little fishing. I found a few scraps of metal and a rusted pushbike frame, but nothing more interesting than that. The problem was that I had a load of rubbish on my hands that I had to dispose of responsibly. Fortunately, a local scrap dealer took it off me when he next passed by.Great magnets, but I can’t see me taking up fishing anytime soon. I now have them attached to a box-steel frame shed with a rope loop through each and a load of lumber suspended through the ropes.
