The Megainvo Long Candle Lighter, USB Rechargeable Arc Lighter was definitely nicer than I was expecting. It came packaged in a nice, heavy box with foam inserts to hold the lighter and accessories. The rose gold trim on the sleek, black body gives it an elegant look. The lighter is sturdy and has some weight to it. It doesn’t “feel” or look cheaply made.This arc lighter has several safety features built in. I really like the battery indicator on the front, which is clearly visible, for a couple of reasons. Obviously, you don’t need to wonder if it’s time to charge the unit. Second, you know if you’ve turned the power button off for safety. If you have forgotten to do this, that battery display is going to remind you. The ignite button is easy to push, but not so easy as to accidentally start the lighter.The goose neck is very adaptable for using the arc lighter in different situations. Even so, it does take a bit more finesse to light something than with a flame. You have to be more precise. I’ve occasionally experienced having to wait a couple of seconds for the arc to appear or push the ignite button a couple of times. However, I’ve experienced that with traditional lighters at times.Initially, I had to place the lighter on charge two times to get the battery to hold a full charge. Since then it’s been fine. I haven’t had to charge it again yet and I’ve used it several times. The micro USB cable has worked as expected as well as the port. It charged in a couple of hours.This is not a product I would use for starting my bbq, firepit, etc. It just seems too nice for those uses. The handle does have an eye on the end so you can hang it. It definitely can be put out on display. I have mine in the junk drawer where I normally store lighters. It would have been nice if the set had come with some kind of little storage bag for it to help preserve the finish, especially since this is a giftable item.

This is the craziest, coolest, most interesting lighter I've ever seen or used! If you are not familiar with these lighters (I wasn't - I thought I was ordering a weird aim'n'flame type lighter!), this is a device that uses an electrical current, not a flame, to light wicks, paper, or other surfaces.If that's confusing, I'm with you. But it's simply two filaments on the end which, when the starter is pressed forward, generate a single blue line of electrical currency between them. It lights whatever you're burninng super fast - much faster than fire that has to "catch," this is almost like a laser beam that starts lighting your surface immediately. Very cool.The push button operation is smooth and a lot easier than most lighters, which means for households with kids (like mine), you'll need a safe space to put this where little ones can't get to it. It does have an on/off switch to save power, and for me the battery life so far has been crazy long - I haven't charged it since I got it and it still is lighting candles every single day. The neck is extremely flexible and the entire lighter as a whole is very sturdy and well made.I love love love this super cool arc lighter and to be honest, I had no idea this was a thing, but I'm hooked! Interesting conversation piece, effective lighter, and tidy household tool. Recommended!
