Great food, but dont order it from amazon
Good food, both cats were very excited for this case to show up. The smell is enticing for my usually picky eater. Sadly the one time i ordered it from here it arrived damaged - likely dropped pretty hard given the cans on one side are flattened and busted open and there was zero padding in the box. Amazon wont do anything if this happens and the food is too expensive to assume a portion of your delivery will arrive unfit to be fed to your furry companions. I dont know what other companies offer this food other than Chewy and when i order from there they actually pack the food correctly and refund damaged goods.

Delicious to my cats
My cat loves fish.

Inconsistent quality
First batch I received was solid paste-like, but the second batch I received had more liquid in it and felt like porridge. I am now only purchase canned cat food that I can directly see the meat, instead of ground mess like this. Who knows what's in it.

Boxes dented
My kittens like Nulo but each time half of the boxes are dented. Who should be notified to change their process so the can are packaged properly?

New Formula. Less Value. Less Calories and Nutrition Per Gram.
The formula recently changed and not in a good way. They appear to use more Agar-agar as a thickener and this is noticeable both visually and texturally. Just look at the photo. The original formula was dense and smooth and not uniformly infused with chunks of gelatin. The food also smells more watered down and metallic, where as it used to smell "meaty" and rich. The calorie content is considerably lower, so if you stick with this food you're going to want to recalculate how much you feed your cats to maintain the weight they're at.I can't say that I'm surprised this has happened. I've jumped from brand to brand several times because the decent mid-range formulas keep getting knocked down a peg. I'd prefer to pay a few bucks more and have the formula stay the same rather than pay the same for a lesser product. The cans are also made out of a flimsier, cheaper aluminum. This doesn't really bother me all that much, but figured I'd mention it because I'm wondering if thats why the smell is a bit off on these new batches. It could just be the new watered-down formula. What a shame. This was a fantastic cat food for the price. On to the next brand...

My picky cats love this food
Tried Nulo on a recommendation from a local pet store employee. It was on sale, so I grabbed it. Both my cats love this food, and in the past at least one has objected to everything, leading to half-finished cans in the refrigerator and disliked food thrown on the floor. Happy cats, happy owner. We alternate chicken (Nulo wet food in the orange can) and fish (Nulo wet food in the pink can) at night and eat the Nulo duck and lentil dry food in the morning mixed with FreshPet. My cats like it and the vet thought it was good food.

Turkey & Chicken Recipe is NOT the same anymore!
UPDATE 11/10/23: Nulo was FANTASTIC in responding to me email of concern. They verified nothing has changed on the recipe, but that ingredients vary given their nature. So, although it's weird that all three of our cats used to love it, but now won't touch it, it's hard to believe....but there you have it. They did send me a free case of replacement food of a formula my cats DO still love. I encourage others to reach out to them as well....I have been feeding all three of my cats the Freestyle Turkey & Chicken Recipe for several years. As of about 2-3 months ago they would not touch it! We noticed the color was much more 'pink/red' and figure there must be a recipe change. Since there isn't a way to return, and the food is pretty expensive, I had to dilute it (making ONE can last 3 days) in order to get it used up, and disguise it. Even with doing that ALL three of my cats wouldn't finish their bowls of food most days (get fed twice/day). I decided to just stop using it, but my Amazon Subscribe & Save went through accidentally. Since it's been a month or so, and it's a different batch, I thought I'd try it. But, NOPE, same thing...they won't eat it! I've been on Nulo's website and see reviews giving the same feedback. I've emailed the company and we'll see what they say...Supposedly Nulo is denying a recipe change, cat trials like it, blah blah... really disappointing.
