My concern with ordering this was the problems others had expressed in not being able to support a large tablet. Not only can this thing hold my iPad easily, I dare say I could have it in an Otterbox case and still have no problems. Everything tightens down well without me fearing I’m going to snap something off. The little included wrench makes further adjustment and tightening even easier. Yes, there is wobble if you are poking at your tablet while it’s mounted, but that’s not something you can avoid because that’s how physics work.

I really wanted one of these, but it simply can't hold up my ipad pro... it droops, and with a case on it drops straight down. taking a case on and off is too much of a hassel... and would leave the ipad unprotected if the stand failed... which i felt was likely, as it did not stay well attached to table, when adjusted. It may depend on your table, but i needed something to buffer between the stand grip and teak table to protect the wood, and this made it 'slippery'...

The mounting nut failed and I bought the 17mm ones on this site and they were too big. You can see a bit of super glue and a hose clamp temporarily fixed. So I went and bought Ram mounts 1 in ball mounts and clamp conector one piece to the arm and another to the back of the tablet mount I have just super glued it to the holder but may have to modify a bit more if it comes loose this type of clamp system won't fail because of weak nuts that can't be replaced because they use an odd size . I'd say 15 or 16mm instead if the 17mm mentioned. So I think if you buy and don't move things different angles or tighten the nut a bit too much it ought to work fine but if you use alot of different angles look for a stronger system or get into modification like I had too.

I was loving how this tablet arm functioned, then this critical plastic piece broke during normal use. The shaft of this piece is too small in diameter to be made of plastic. With this piece broken the arm is useless. I returned the arm through Kohls and have received an Amazon credit.

I have a 12.9" iPad Pro, and have had a hard time finding arms to hold it by my bed because most are not strong enough. This one is the exception. It holds it just find, and can even fit my iPad with its case on. It will also hold the iPad over my head, and it does not droop, or sink over time.It's only drawback is you can hear the springs, and that's not a big one, but I do try to be quiet for my wife on the other side of the bed. If this is a problem depends on how light a sleeper your partner is.
