This Works and Super Easy to Use
I live in France and am new to raising chickens. Of my 3 layers, one developed a sharp bark shortly after arrival. I didn't know if it was her natural cluck, a respiratory ailment , or something caught in her throat but foolishly, I let this go on for a number of months, during which time, I felt her comb became lighter and her body thinner. I’m not sure if I was imagining her decline, but I was very worried. In desperation, after much research, I bought Poultry RX from the states, as I haven't been able to find it here. It’s a very small bottle (2oz isn’t much) but it’s ideal because I was able to have someone bring it to me in their hand luggage. The hardest part to applying it, was learning to catch and hold a chicken (lots of info on the net). However, once done, the RX is incredibly easy to use. I get the bottle open and put it down, catch the chicken, pick her up holding her wings down, put some on my finger, rub it on her beak, and wipe my finger off on her feathers. She actually seems to like the taste. No objection whatsoever. I also add a drop to the chicken water and swirl it around. I’m not faithful about the application – only every two days or so.The day after the first application, I had the sense that although she was still barking she was also moaning a bit - the favorite sound of my other chickens. Another few days, and I definitely heard a chicken sound or two. Now, after two weeks, she sounds like a chicken all the time and she has given up her barking! I am thrilled. The bottle is still almost full but I am buying another one now, so I am never out of it.This is a great product for a chicken novice. I wasn’t worried that I’d poison my chicken, no antibiotics, no chicken handling skills required, inexpensive, wasn’t worried about eating the eggs… no downside.

works good.
No more sneezing chickens. I put a few drops in their water. This is oily and doesn't mix well with water. Works best with warm water.

It Works!
One of my chickens seemed ill—she was not eating and I started to get nervous that her health was going to spiral out of control. I isolated her from the other hens, but after close examination I was certain it was some kind of upper respiratory. In my research, I read about Vetrx, and decided to give it a try. I would say it's sort of like Vick's Vapor rub for chickens. Anyway, within three days of using as directed on the bottle, she was back to her old self and reunited with the flock.

My FAVORITE remedy for my chickens!
This is my favorite, FAVORITE remedy for chickens. We are running about 100 chickens now, so over the course of time we have encountered almost everything that could possibly go wrong. I try to treat the birds with the same philosophy as the rest of the family - we use whole foods, non-GMO and organic foods, essential oils, and other natural ways of staying healthy. Using drugs is a last resort (don't get me wrong - there's a time and a place!).SO, enter the first time my chickens had "a cold". Just like people - watery eyes (often swollen, as their sinuses are right there), clogged or runny nose, even sneezing. After wading through all the online discussions where people immediately jump to giving antibiotics (which only builds resistance!), I discovered that lots of like-minded people use VetRx.We live in a remote area, and I couldn't find it in stores, so I was very thankful to see it here on Amazon. There are directions on the package for a number of different applications for this type of issue. I think by now we have tried, and appreciate, most of them. We apply directly to the "nose" area of sick birds, as well as under their wings so that they have the vapors to inhale when they tuck their heads under their wings to sleep. We dilute in warm water and swab inside their mouths. We drip some into the coop bedding to give everyone a bit of vapor inhalation overnight. We drop a few drops into the reservoirs of the big waterers after filling, so that drinking chickens can get a bit on their beaks for a little treatment. All of the direct applications we do only on sick birds; the community applications we use to keep the flock healthy while we are treating sick birds. We do also use other real food treatments for the flock during this time (Apple Cider Vinegar, oregano in the feed, etc.), but Vetx is the only "remedy" that we have needed to keep the birds healthy.Delightfully, the instructions also describe great uses for the product in entirely different situations - as a dressing combs and wattles, to help soothe and heal dry legs, to keep breeding birds healthy, and so on. I think I need to keep more on hand...

Tricky to use but effective
It cures eye issues, raspatory issues and a few other issues in a wide range of birds. The bottle smells like pine oil and vicks vaporub. All natural ingredients I believe. The best way to handle this is to heat up water and taking a minute to mix into water. Overall a pretty good product.

Worked for me and apparently for a lot of other people since 1874!!
Worked for me and apparently for a lot of other people since 1874!! They do still make things like they use too !!!This product really worked for me and my birds. I had rescued 16 birds from a farm where they where under feed, had worms,(treated this with apple cider vinegar in the water for weeks.), Birds were coughing, and wheezing, aLot of missing feathers, sleeping all day, they were in bad shape. So far what I have done is.Put a small amount under each birds wings both sides. I put some of Vet RX on there heads and cones, A few birds I had to rub over eye lids etc. After a few days of this and other things like fresh herbs.A couple of the birds still where having breathing issues so I put some directly in there mouth with a dropper little by little. After a while I think they liked it.I use other things besides vet RX too and I think overall health of the birds is part of the diet, meds etc. However This Product worked great for me. I did not get anything else right away because I thought those birds was not going to make it.So I have got two other bottles of vet RX and I am going to add this to my weekly routine.I added a few drops to fresh water daily when they are out in the sun.
