don't buy it.
It will not stay connected to the camera; I constantly have to reset the connection, no matter the power setting or channel setting. It is cheap and useless for more than 3 or 4 shots. i would not trust it at all for anything more than a staged photo.

Works great, just make sure your camera is compatible
I love how small this trigger is and that it is powered by the camera. No more having the batteries die at the worst time.I think a lot of people give it a bad review because it only works with a couple of the newest camera models that have the new hot shoe.

Works well with new Canon R3 - And Presumably for Canon's next gen cameras
The new speedlite transmitter is a great addition to a Canon R3 if you want to use multiple (Canon) off camera RT series flash units. It's small and draws its power directly from the camera itself so there's no need for additional batteries. You have direct access to the flash settings via the camera's LCD display with a push of a button on the transmitter itself. You have exceptional control of the flash output in manual mode, not to just 1/128th or 1/256th power but all the way to 1/8192nd.

Great Until Drops Connection (constantly)
This is a great little and functional flash trigger, until it drops link from the flash despite the link light remaining on. Requires turning off the trigger AND your speedlight (happening on my EL-1.)Canon seems to be aware of the issue but won't provide any details on if or when it will be fixed. It's great but not for professional use until this is worked out.

Drops constantly with Canon Speedlite EL-5
You could be forgiven for expecting that being the Canon transmitter recommended on Canon's own web site for the Canon Speelite EL-5, which are both pretty pricey items of the same Canon Brand, the two would work great together? You would be dead wrong. The connectivity between the two drops constantly, and ramdomly, which means that any photo shoot involving the too will be a stressfull affair, and a lot of running back and forth to turn them off an on again, and then again, and then again. And it is as bad as it sounds. Hence the 1 star.

Essential kit
Despite reading several reviews citing connectivity problems, I bought this unit. I found the Canon ST-E10 straightforward to use. The setup was quick and the connectivity has been flawless with two 600EXII-RT Speedlites. This unit obviates the need for off-camera corded or line-of-sight flash placement. Highly recommended!

Constantly looses connection with Canon flashes.
I had an off camera light setup consisting of a Phottix Lasso and two 430EX III RTs. This trio worked flawlessly for four years until the Lasso started loosing the link with the flashes. Thinking the problem was with the Lasso, I purchased this transmitter to use with h the Canon R6 NK 2. Unfortunately, this new transmitter did not solve the issue. Researching, it is clear that the RT protocol is susceptible to interference, causing the dropouts. It is appalling to me that a company like Canon does not address or even recognize this issue.
