Silk Route Spice Company Smoked Spanish Paprika (Sweet) 75g - Award Winning

I am going to admit from the start that I do not use a lot of paprika. I have had some trouble in the past with the spice by adding to little or too much or the wrong kind. (who knew there were so many kinds) I make paella several times a year, just love the stuff and I have trying to get more and more authentic with my ingredients each time I make it. This time it was time to try imported Spanish paprika. It made a big difference. I used less than what the recipes called for, for the size that I was making, and I am glad that I did. The flavor of this stuff is profound. It is not bitter at all, but then again I added it seconds before I added my liquid so it was not in contact with the hot pan for more than a few seconds. It did have a a smokey flavor as well and I was surprised because when I tasted it right out of the container I could not detect the smokiness. But wow it was very nice. I was also impressed with the amount that I got for the price. I think the quality beats the stuff I got from my local grocery store by a mile or two. It is not available right now or I would consider buying this again. Maybe it will be when I need it. I can recommend it.UPDATE: Well I have been using this Paprika for several months now. Here are a few tips. 1. When you use this in a recipe that is going to be heated or cooked the flavor comes to life, it opens up and it is amazing. I sprinkled some on deviled eggs and knowing how strong a flavor it was from using it in rubs and recipes that were heated I found that using on cold foods required more than just a sprinkle to get the flavor I wanted. But wow is it good. 2. And I cannot stress this enough, use it sparingly compared to other types of Paprika it does have a very strong flavor especially when heated.I am on my third container now. I really do love this stuff.

This is the best and high quality smoked paprika. Worth every cent. I just wished they sold the large cans.

I haven't used any smoked paprika before purchasing this brand. After seeing it used in recipies on TV, I decided I needed to try some. Wow, this stuff is good! I have been putting it on everything! It adds a very nice smoky flavor and is not hot. I looked at reviews from many different brands and chose Silk Route Spice Company brand because of the great reviews and I'm glad I did. It has a great flavor and is moderately priced. I like this so well that I'm not going to try any other brand. Will be buying more soon!

Update: I have made two different dishes with this lovely Silk Route Spanish Smoked Paprika, and both turned out heavenly and delicious. The taste is lovely, and the aroma it adds while cooking lets you know that something toothsome and special is for dinner. My family and guests agree.Although I have yet to use it - it smells heavenly. I will up date this review once I have made something with it.

The smokes paprika has a very smooth taste.

I have bought smaller size jars of paprika from other vendors. Some were bland or colorful but lacking in that smoky tang and richness that this variety has. I find that I use it on chili, tacos, roast pork, burgers, grilled chicken, and chilaquiles with outstanding results.

This is a very fragrant and delicious smoked paprika. The tin arrived sealed up. As soon as I broke the seal I could smell the smokiness. This also a good amount of good smoked paprika for the price.

I absolutely love this spice and use it a lot. It gives a nice rich base flavor and just a hint of smokiness. My mom liked it so much, she's now a regular customer as well. Well worth the little bit of extra shipping time.
