Amazing book.

This is the best looking junji Ito book I have in my collection! Just nice plain black. I wish all the others came like this. Not The longest but still great. Must buy for all fans.

Just read it all

Cover for the book is cheaply made, a lot of the silver on the front was peeling off when I first opened it and there was a bit of damage to the spine. Pretty much every corner of the book is chipped/damaged, worse in some places than others. Not sure if this is from shipping or not but it seems like the cover damages very easily and there was no protection for it in the envelope it was shipped in.The story itself is as good as any other junji ito book, it's just too bad it's been made/shipped so cheaply, definitely not one to get a prominent spot on a bookshelf due to the damage. I have a feeling time will not do this book any favours either.

The book "Black Paradox" by Junji Ito is a fantastic superhero manga, 5/5, very entertaining, though a bit shorter than the Junji Ito omnibuses you may be used to.This review is not for the book, but for the experience buying from Amazon.Don't buy it from Amazon, as it will arrive damaged - it is packed in a cardboard envelope, which will damage the matte cover, rubbing it smooth. They could at least wrap it in plastic film or a paper dust jacket, but nope, straight in the envelope and it gets damaged in transit. May as well buy a cheaper 2nd-hand copy on other well-known ecommerce websites, maybe they'll pack it better. Or at least, you won't feel bad for getting a "brand new" book in 2nd-hand condition.

I think im realising I'm outgrowing junji ito, I really loved uzumaki and a couple of the short story collections but anything I've tried recently of his has just been a miss. I appreciate the crazy random stories but it's starting to bother me that you get no explanation or conclusion with these stories. I also found the art style to be really tame in this, I personally would've like more horrific art.
