Bakto Flavors Natural Caramel Flavor - 4 OZ

This is my favorite caramel flavoring! I use it daily to flavor our milk for our cappuccino foam.I really wish they would t be out of stock so often. I hate having to use something else. I've even bought several bottles at once to stock up. Would be great if they brought back the large size!!

I made flans for a living along with other baked goods. I decided to give this a try. Let’s just say used it once and that was enough! It did not impress. The flavor it left in the flan was nothing good at all. It was overly sweet too and left the flan having an aftertaste. If you like stuff that taste artificially flavored and lacks authentic flavor. This would be it for caramel flavor. If you are looking for something decent to flavor your baked goods. Skip over this stuff!

I have tried a number of different caramel extract is this is by far the one I most prefer. This is the closest to the caramel taste that I am looking for. I use it to flavor a coffee drink. I think I have re-ordered this product at minimum 10x over the past 2-3 years and should own stock! Compared to the cost of other extracts this is in the ballpark on cost. I just wish in general extracts weren't so expensive. I will continue to order until I can afford no more.

Gluten free but not dairy free, this caramel extract is delicious. Although you can definitely smell the alcohol when you open the bottle that smell/taste does not transfer over to the final product. HOWEVER it is important to not use too much of this. Richard and I have been enjoying it in Trim Healthy Mama's Salted Caramel Fat-Stripping Frappa's, a very thick thick shake. We use 1/2 tsp for a 32oz (4 cup) shake. Yes, a little goes a long way! SO that means you don't need to panic about the sugar in this either. In 1/2 tsp the amount is going to be negligible!I searched long and hard to find a natural caramel flavor that wasn't full of "junk". The only ingredients in this are:Water * Natural Flavors * Sugar * Salt * AlcoholProduct comes in a plastic bottle. Also important to note that although this extract is brown in color due to the small amount needed, it will likely not turn your food item brown as you can see from the frappa picture. Just received this product today after seriously a week+ long search for a caramel "extract" that fit the clean eating specifics of the 21 day fix and this does it. I just added it into my protein shake and its delicious!! I was skeptical but I'm happy with my purchase. I am still hunting for a hazelnut extract... I know Bakto has it but for some reason they don't sell it individually...at least I could not find it individually. Anyways I also love that it doesn't have propelene glycol which is toxic. It was hard to find something was clearly 21 day fix approved when it came to extracts but this one is it! I look forward to trying the hazelnut as well. Guys, I even went to 3, yes 3, cake baking candy making supply stores and they did not even have extracts! They only had flavoring oils.. I have searched a long time and so happy I finally found something! I intend on making a clean homemade coffee creamer with these. It's a bonus that they are yummy in the protein shakes as well! 😁😁

I bought this flavoring with a bit of trepidation not knowing whether it would be simply a coloring agent or a real tasting caramel flavor, but since I had been happy with other flavorings from this brand, I gave it a try.Wow! Not only did it give my buttercream frosting a rich, real tasting caramel flavor, it only required a tiny amount to make it that way. I used only 1/2 teaspoon of the flavoring for my frosting recipe that used about a pound of powdered sugar along with a teaspoon of vanilla extract. The result was a creamy, noticeably caramel flavor that complemented the vanilla perfectly. The liquid flavoring is a deep brown, but because so little is needed to flavor a batch it only made my frosting a pale ivory shade that was a barely noticeable difference when compared to plain vanilla frosting.I can't wait to try this in my trusty Toll House cookie recipe! No more cooking sugar and butter or melting caramel candies to get that caramel flavor in my baked goods. This is going to be a kitchen staple for me as long as it's available.Highly recommended.

Do NOT buy this...They are LYING about the ingredients. It contains Propylene Glycol which is a CHEMICAL used in Anti Freeze.Actually my brother-in-law which is a Mechanic said that it IS Anti Freeze...I specifically looked for it without that chemical and they Don't have it listed as one of the ingredients nor does it show from the picture...I called Amazon and am getting a Full REFUND. I can get it at a Fraction of a cost locally with this CHEMICAL in it. If I wouldn't mind the Chemical I would buy it locally for Much Cheaper...Why would I pay $13.00 for it when I can get it for a fraction of that cost...I specifically looked for one Without the "PROPYLENE GLYCOL" in it and was willing to pay more since it supposedly didn't have that in it but when I got the bottle in and looked at the ingredients it sure does contain that Chemical. I also checked the reviews Before I purchased it and saw where someone specified that they were happy it didn't contain the PROPYLENE GLYCOL so that is why I bought it...I wonder if the other reviewer actually checked the ingredients listing on the bottle or if they just went by what it said on their listing..Just wanted to warn others about this and save you a head ache....If you Don't want that chemical in it then DON'T buy this...I can't trust this company now and will Not buy from them again.

This is a bit pricey but I feel it lasts much longer than competitors and the flavor is pretty awesome.
