Angels Coloring Book (Dover Coloring Books)

The media could not be loaded.  This is an older Dover coloring book, “Angels” by Marty Noble. As with other Dover published coloring books (as opposed to the Creative Haven line by Dover), these designs are printed on both sides of the page.The angels designs in this coloring book are both graceful and elegant. They are all female – I would have loved to see a few male angels, such as Gabriel and Michael portrayed by Ms. Noble. Some of the designs are reminiscent of famous works of art and may have been inspired by them. However, there is no attribution stating so.The designs are all of angels in a variety of detailed backgrounds. They are well centered on the page with a framing line at the outer edges. The designs are detailed and, while a few of them include some intricate elements, the designs are not what I consider intricate with masses of small and difficult elements to color.This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing it with my coloring medium.30 Elegant and graceful angel designsPrinted on both sides of the pagePaper is medium weight, slightly rough, white and non-perforatedStaple bound with three heavy duty staplesDesigns stop well before the binding area and can be removed in whole from the book by removing the three staples at the binding.Alcohol-based markers bleed through this paperWater-based markers spot through and/or leave colorful shadows on the back of the pageGel pens and India ink pens leave colorful shadows on the back of the page. India ink pens can bleed through in spots if you apply heavily or use multiple coats.Colored pencils worked well with this paper. Both oil and wax-based pencils provided good pigment, layered well with the same or multiple colors and blended well using a blending stick. Hard lead pencils did not dent through the page.If you choose to use any medium other than colored pencils on the pages of this book, you will probably find bleed through or colorful shadows on the design at the back of your working page.

I have been finding all kinds of thing to buy for my family and friends---not to mention me. So when I accidentally found a coloring book for my Aunt, I looked for a book for my mom, thinking she might think would be interesting. I could not find one with Chihuahuas. Then went to the next topic: she loves angels and I found this book and it looked exactly like something my mom would pick out. I was right. I only gave it 4 stars because even though mom thought that the book was beautiful, she is disappointed that the pictures are on the front and back of each page instead of only one to a page. She says that the paper is thick, but according to which medium that you use to color it, that will determine whether or not you can use the picture on the reverse side. And the only way to avoid that is to buy the heavier paper/drawing paper and copy it off to color. For instance, water colors or water color pencils would be one medium that could cause problems with being able to use both pictures. And if you had someone that was heavy handed. The coloring pencils/gel pens would show indentations on the opposite side. She said she would do the latter because she said the Angels are so beautiful in this book. Anyway, I am happy that she likes it.

I bought this adult coloring book for my friend who absolutely adores angels. She has been very curious about the adult coloring books and has wanted to try one, but never got around to actually BUYING one. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. An adult coloring book + angels = the perfect solution. She absolutely LOVES it!! In my own personal opinion, it's perfect for someone who is just starting out with the whole coloring hobby. The pictures aren't overly complicated, but they're still very, very beautiful.I also want to add the following. Coloring is a wonderful thing to do for people who suffer from anxiety, depression, chronic pain, PTSD, or etc. It helps take your mind off of the negative and helps you focus on the creative. Don't get me wrong -- it's NOT a magical cure-all!! But it is definitely a wonderful way to help calm yourself down and allow your body and emotions to relax a bit. (I suffer from all of the above and this is from my own personal experiences.) I just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone who is thinking about jumping into the world of adult coloring. :) Angels Coloring Book (Dover Coloring Books)

Unable to find my favorite coloring books from "RED FARM STUDIOS" I decided to get a few of these, I'm happy I did.The illustrations really are quite nice, the finished angel could be easily framed. There are 30 of these beautiful pages to bring to life. These pages are however double sided do paints & permanent markers really wouldn't be an option. These pages are also not perforated, so care will be needed when removing them from this book.Each angel will relax you, calm you and give you that quiet time so many of us want. Each page will be craving many , many beautiful colors. 109 crayola box is what I have along with crayola's 30 twistable pencils. They are retractable & can't be sharpened, but I enjoy using them. *NOTE* just a few of uncolored pages , so you have some idea of this book.Hope this helps.THANKS FOR READING, BYE.😄

The pictures are really nice and the price is great. The one thing we didn't notice when we ordered this book is that the pictures are back to back instead of one on each sheet of paper. This makes it so we cannot hang each picture we color.

This book has a nice assortment of pictures to choose from and it is high quality. The paper is excellent material and holds the colors well. The only down side is each page has a picture on each side. If someone wanted to frame a picture and display it they would not be able to display the other. Other than that, it's a great book and I do recommend this product. I would buy more from this manufacturer in the future.

There is a few things about this book that are not ideal however, I do love the pictures and they are all different and very nice. One thing that is unfortunate it that the images are back to back so if you use alcohol ink pens then the colour bleeds through to the image on the other side. The pages are also not perforated making it hard to tear out of the book. The paper quality is good and the actual printing is also very good.Most but not all of the illustrations have a border around them. I bought this book in 2013 and have had a lot of fun with it over the years. The angels are all surrounded with either leaves or other small designs.It is a great book and good value for money. It would be best coloured in using colouring pencils if you don't want to loose the image on the reverse due to colour bleeding. There are 30 images in total.

Lovely pictures to color. The lines are very light and since I color in the evening it will cause a problem. But the pictures will be lovely when I do them. I keep buying moreThe book is lovely. Last evening I choose this book to color in and realized the lines are very pale, I couldn't see the lines well enough to do anything. But I think I will begin one during the day and that should help me when I go to color at night.

A nice colouring book with some lovely pictures to colour in. I would not recommend it for young children though, as the pictures are quite complex to colour. More suited to adults or older children. There is a number of colouring books in this series that covers Angels, Fairys etc and are a very good series.

The pictures are quite lovely. the only bad thing is that you cant really use paint or pen with heavy ink or it will run through to the other side, but it's still really nice.

Like the garden Fairy A, B, C, it is very nice, agian for many projects, however, age for this I would say 9 10 - adults as a lot of them are very involved, I have a student ( art ) who love's painting angels.
