These planters look great but do not hang well on a deck railing. They also seem too heavy (even without dirt and plants) to be safely hung, especially if children would be around them. In the normal configuration, the smallest width of the bracket is 3.5 inches. I decided to use them without the brackets and just set them on our front porch under the windows.

Good quality and spacious enough for hearty plants.

Our window ledge was not the right shape to get the planters to hang. However, my husband was able to secure the brackets to the outside of the window frame and it worked just fine!

Exactly as in photo. Well made, sturdy. Our mistake, it hangs over a railing while we needed it mounted under a window, so make sure a railing box is what you want. Otherwise, we love it!
