It’s a powerful pump. Not as quite as expected but I hang mine on its small hook for my 55 gallon.

The air pump works very well but it is very loud, I ordered a different brand to replace it.

If you didn't know you needed one of these, this is your wakeup call. I've had a very self-sustaining standalone half-moon tank for over 6 years filled appropriately with tetras, bottom feeders, and the occasional social beta. About three years ago, I switched my tank from fake to live plants; since then, only one of my fish is a long-term resident due to other bouts of swimmer's bloat and a carbon fertilizer incident. For years I would watch my little fish, even the bottom feeders, going up to the surface for air, and simply thought it was a cute trait and nothing to be worried about. Only upon adopting a new beta and seeing how active she was in the store compared to when I brought her home clued me in to the fact that my poor babies were being suffocated by a lack of oxygen in the water. This little air pump is exactly what my fishies needed! They are so much more active and playful now with both me and one another. The plants themselves till seem to be growing just fine, and the algae problem even seems to be down a bit. When supported on all four feet, this unit is quite quiet, but I do wish it would somehow be able to connect it on a horizontal flat surface as my tank's lid is broken, meaning I don't have a nearby surface to set it on. I also wish I could switch the pump to be at half-strength as it is meant to be for a 20-gallon tank, whereas mine is half that. Still, definitely worth the investment, especially at such a price. Don't make my mistake and give your fishy friends the quality of life they deserve.

This did a good job but was pretty noisy. If your tank is near where you sleep (even in a close room) I suggest you not get this.

This is a good air pump for the price. Works great connected to the air stone that is included. You can also use it to work a small sponge filter. Its not too loud but its not silent. You can set it on top of a sponge and it may help to quiet it down a bit if yours tends to vibrate on the surface.There is an air filter on the underside of the pump that should be checked and cleaned periodically. I like how the pump looks and the included silicone airline is a nice touch. Considering it also comes with an air stone, anti-backflow check valve, air line, and a suction cup mount, this seems like a great value.4 stars, hope this helps!

Provided great aeration but the trade off is a noisy pump. I cushioned what the pump sat on and even then it didn’t help the loud hum. Suction cups to hold the stone in place were deformed and didn’t hold it to anything.

Air pump works pretty well, except is very very loud
