Smells great, works wonders, quality product
This is a review for First Botany Shea Ice Cream Body Scrub w/ walnut shell powder 10oz (natural exfoliating scrub for body & face, moisturizers skin, reduces acne, cellulite, wrinks & dead skin)It's such a treat to review this body scrub, it's a great product! I was really pleased with the scrub, and the manufacturer, and I would absolutely recommend this body scrub to anyone. Some details on my experience with the product can be read about below!First of all, it's sealed tightly so no worries of leaks. It also has a lot number and expiration date, which I so seldom see on personal care products, and they're both important! It really shows that the manufacturer cares about the quality of their product and their customers. The label is excellent too, you can easily read the list of ingredients, there's no fine print trying to hide additives. There's an appropriate caution statement below the ingredients, that the scrub is for external use only and you should patch test a small area first, to avoid any unwanted reactions. There's also a warning that this product should be kept away from children. That's a really important reminder for products like this that look and smell so good! The country of origin is clearly visible, in this case, the United States of America. The label also lists both their email for customer support as well as their website. Additionally, there's a bunny logo that states this is a cruelty free product, meaning it was not tested on animals. The online product details boast a vegan formula that includes shea butter, as the second ingredient, along with aloe extract and sunflower seed oil. The abrasive ingredient used is walnut shell powder, which is a natural and eco-friendly alternative to plastic microbeads.I received the scrub, and after smelling it, I was so excited to try it! However, I did test a small area on the inside of my forearm. It's my go to place as the skin there is thin but the area can be easily hidden or covered if you do have a reaction. I scrubbed a bit on my arm, left it for a few minutes then rinsed away. I had zero reaction and I do have sensitive skin, so that was a big plus already. I used the scrub the next day in the shower and I'll admit, I used it everywhere! Face, body and feet! Again, I have to say the scrub itself smells so good, which I know is subjective, but it's really does! It reminded me of being a kid and unwrapping one of those strawberry hard candies my grandma used to carry in her purse!Aside from the delicious smell, one of the best things about this scrub is it's consistency. A lot of exfoliating scrubs are really oily. I understand the idea is to exfoliate and hydrate but I can't stand all that oil on my skin and I have to wash it off with soap, which kind of defeats the purpose of moisturizing. This shea scrub is creamy and slightly whipped, it feels really lightweight on your skin but it isn't one of those too foamy types that melts away the second water hits it. This scrub had a good milky coverage when you first rub it on wet skin, it seemed to cling and kinda melt into your skin. Then once you start to exfoliate the area you get a nice lather that feels very silky, not a burst of dry suds.A note on the walnut powder, I loved it! I found it worked really well but was more gentle than the sugar or salt type of scrubs are. I have a couple tubs of exfoliating scrub that use sugar/salt and one of my big issues is the scrub is too thin and it separates, the granules settle to the bottom in a hard layer and you have to try and mix it up before you can use it. OR they use a thicker scrub to keep the granules suspended but the scrub is hard as a rock and you're struggling to scrape enough out. This shea scrub is really the perfect, creamy consistency and the walnut powder is fine enough to remain suspended throughout but it still exfoliates really well. After my shower I skipped my usual moisturizer so I could see how my skin looked at the end of the day. I tend to have dry skin and a lot of the time I'll try a body wash or scrub I like but find it's too harsh for my skin, stripping away too much natural oils. I didn't have that tight, dry feeling you get sometimes after exfoliating with this cream though, which is a rarity for me! I've used this scrub 3 times now and have been very happy with how my skin looks and feels afterwards.I hate to do it, but it's kinda what I'm here for... there's a couple minor problems with the Amazon page that need clarification. At the time I'm writing this review, the main photos at the top of the page all show the product with an 11oz label. The scrub is listed as 10oz and my own label says 10oz. Also, towards the bottom of the page in the 'product description' box, it's describing a different product than this shea ice cream scrub. The description is currently referring to a salt scrub with collagen and stem cells, 11oz. I certainly won't take away any stars, as this product deserves every one of them. These online issues are small and can be easily fixed, so there's no confusion for the buyer that's clicking quickly and not paying attention.Overall, a really great product, I appreciated the opportunity to test and review it!

Silky Smooth Skin in a Jar? Sign Me Up! ππ½ββοΈ
This scrub is an absolute treat for my skin! It exfoliates beautifully, removing dead skin cells and leaving my skin feeling silky smooth.ππΎββοΈ I love how it also provides hydration, so my skin doesn't feel dry or after use. π§ The walnut shell powder is just the right textureβnot too harsh but effective enough to make a noticeable difference. π°The initial π¨ scent was vibrant and refreshing, but it was a bit too sweet for my liking. π¬π§ However, the fragrance grew on me after a few uses. I had expected (and was hoping for) a more complex, gourmand-like Fall/Wintertime aroma with additional depth and complementary notes, π but the scent was rather one-dimensional and reminds me of a summertime children's bath product. πWhile the scent may not have been entirely to my preference, the quality of the product itself is what will keep me coming back. π The scrub lathers into a satisfying amount of suds, leaving my skin feeling deeply cleansed and exfoliated. π¦ Next time, I may opt for a different fragrance, but I am still pleased with the overall performance of the product. If you're looking for a scrub that delivers smooth, moisturized skin, this one is a solid choice. π― Highly recommend it for anyone wanting an at-home spa experience! π

A nice smelling scrub that works great
My wife is always looking for a good deal on body scrubs to keep her skin feeling smooth and silky. We searched out a bunch of options, found this one and based on the description, we decided to give it a try. We ordered it up and it arrived in a few days.Pros:ο§ -Container was wrapped in bubble wrap, had a plastic seal around the lid, and a sealed inner lid.ο§ -Smell of the scrub was βyummyβ, with a nice, sweet smell.ο§ -US based company, which we should certainly support.ο§ -After about a week of use, the wife noted she absolutely loves it.ο§ -She noted it was not as abrasive as some of the other scrubs she has used.ο§ -The scrub left her skin feeling very soft and smooth.ο§ -No oily feel afterwards either.ο§ -She has not experienced any negative skin reactions.Cons:ο§ -No tab to pull off the seal, but was easy enough to get off.Overall, she was very impressed and it is priced right. She (and I) would certainly recommend this option and are rating accordingly based on the items noted above and with her initial usages. I will only update this post in the future if it does not live up to her / our expectations.

More hydrating than I thought
First of all, this thing was messy to open, as it was sealed closed but there was no pull tab to peel it off, so I had to cut a hole and pry the seal off which got the product all over my hands. Since it was all over my hands anyway, I tested this on my hands first, which have been dry lately, and they felt surprisingly smooth and good afterward! I haven't used this on my face and don't plan to, as I've got sensitive skin and I think the exfoliation is a little too aggressive for my face, but I really like it for body exfoliation! The scrub itself seems kind of like a whip, but doesn't hold its shape as much; it has some flow to it, which I wasn't expecting. I thought it would be harder/more solid, but it's surprisingly liquidy. The smell is nice, but not very strong - I was expecting stronger to be honest, but the faint smell of strawberry ice cream is pretty nice. Overall I'm pleased with this!
