Love this stuff it’s amazing
I feel like I’ve been searching for years for a good texturising hair styling product. I’ve been trying powder based products recently, but have been growing increasingly frustrated with the sticky powder going everywhere. I saw this product being used in a YouTube video, it wasn’t a advertisement for the product, but the product was used to create the style I liked so I decided to just buy it and see what happened. Probably one of the best blind buys I’ve ever made!Admittedly I was surprised to find it on Amazon, I assumed it might only be available in the US or otherwise difficult to buy as I’d never heard of the brand before, but it was nice to be able to buy it through Amazon and have it delivered the next day on prime no less! The product itself is great, finally I’ve found something that gives my hair texture and hold with a natural Matt finish. My hair is awkward to control and other products I’ve tried usually give up after a few hours but this lasts really well. Yes it’s a bit hard to get out at first but softens quickly when rubbed in your hands and you only need a small amount. I’d imagine 1 pot will last a couple of months, I actually ordered another to have to hand in cause I run out since there is no subscribe and save option.I disagree with the reviews saying it’s hard to wash out, I find it washes out within seconds under warm water certainly without much effort at all.

Great clay
I have medium length (chin length) , thick, course hair and this clay is great. It gives pretty firm hold but my hair is still playable. The clay gives natural finish without the greasy look. It is very efficient and small pea sized portion is enough to hold my hair whole day. The smell is also great. As it is a clay and not water based product it is harder to wash it out of the hair. Sometimes I have to shampoo my hair twice, which is normal with clays but keep that in mind.Overall super happy with this product.

Best hair clay
I bought this clay on the 27th of September and have been using it every day since.I've spent the last 2 months trying all sort of waxes and clays after seeing some Youtube reviews but none were as near as good as this one. This one is now my No. 1 choice. The hold is amazing.I've finally managed to get my hair to stay up all day by pre-styling using a sea salt spray, the Cavalier Clay and Got2b Hair Spray for finishing. I work in a part of London close to the Thames so it's very windy, despite that my hair will stay in place all day which wasn't the case before.I'm so happy with the quality of this product, however I took one star off for the price. It's too expensive.I only apply a pea amount (if not less) on my finger but the quantity in the pot is still quite small, I think it might last me 2-3 months with a daily use. I find it hard to justify spending that much money on a hair product so I will keep using this one but I might get it cheaper somewhere else if I can.

Overall very pleased!
You never know how overly generous the professional review is when done by the product creator, Mr Bluuman himself, so thought I’d give this a try myself, and leave a too long review. Overall very happy! I have short/medium length, fine, straight and quickly oily hair. I style it all upwards quiff style, in the past I’ve used gel, fibre-paste and fibre-putty. This clay is by far the best for hold, volume, texture, definition and a matte effect to combat the oil. In the videos Joe uses a hairdryer plus prestyler first; nobody has time for that. I go straight in with small amounts of clay into clean, fully dry hair and the results are essentially the same. And with how little you need, this small tub will likely last me over a year, used twice a week. There are, however, downsides. Clay is probably the hardest product to get into your hair. Spread over hands it is very dry and tugs like an absolute b-word, you will be wincing heavily if you want to get it into the roots for volume and longlasting hold, and worse the longer your hair grows. If you put too much it will weigh down your hair, clump it up and make it look unwashed, so be careful! You can feel this stuff in your hair. Run your hand through it and it won’t glide through, it’ll tug, and come away with residue on your fingers which is hard to get off without soap. My biggest complaint however is actually the smell. It is not a light scent, you’ll be getting wafts of it for days, and your pillow will smell of it too. I’m not a fan, but I do have a very good sense of smell. The closest thing it reminds me of is butterscotch, though less sweet. The clay comes out after a couple vigorous shampoos, however I could still smell the scent after a week and three showers even though the product was long gone!HOW TO APPLYWhen used properly, heavy clays work wonders. When not, they feel like they belong in the bin, so I thought I’d leave a rough guide.Dig a SMALL amount out of the tub (jellybean-ish sized lump). Mush into palm. Rub hands hard and thoroughly to distribute evenly. It will look like none is on your hands but don’t go back for more! Brush lightly onto surface of hair, more onto top, less onto back and sides. Grit teeth and start forcing fingers to the roots to distribute. Generally work through hair until it’s defying gravity, looking crazy or you want to cry. Wash hands with soap. Style hair as desired, combing fingers through roots for volume. (Slightly damp fingers will make this less painful). If more hold is needed or you chose to do the sides and back separately, repeat with smaller amount of product. If you see clumps, rub at them till the hairs separate. Wash hands again with more soap. Congratulations, you survived! In the videos Joe mentions clays needing about 15mins to set in after styling. I’ve not really noticed this though I believe him, so leave it alone for a bit afterwards. Sometimes I style before bed and it’ll actually look better in the mornings, so you won’t need (or want) to reapply daily. Be careful to keep this stuff off your face though. It’s just clay, it isn’t harmful, but being so thick and heavy it’s definitely comodogenic, so you’ll want to change your pillow case at least weekly unless you shower daily, if you worry about spots.TL:DR:Very very good hold, volume, texture, definition, mattification(?) and long-lastingness. Best product type I’ve used, but not necessarily the best heavy clay out there.Hard/painful/tricky to use, doesn’t leave hair touchable and smooth, strong and unusual smell, leaves residue. (Like all heavy clays.)
