cuts great and very easy to operate
I have only used my new mower one time but WOW! i am a 69 year old woman and was looking for a light mower. i was initially upset it wasn't 21 pounds (almost returned it) but it is still feels pretty light and handles easily. it cuts like a charm with one pass. i was able to do my lawn in about 15 minutes! (previously would take me 40 minutes with old mower repeating areas to get all the grass cut) so the power level was very satisfactory and the blades did the job the first time. i was giddy at how great it mowed! not wanting to stop i then did the side yard (about as big as the front yard, and then a little out front by our field and still had 2 dots left on my battery. i used it totally about 35 minutes and didn't even break a sweat. our lawn is on a hill side and only needed the self propel when i was going uphill. i only had it on the second lowest self propel level and it took me uphill like a charm. and as someone else said... be sure to let go of the self propel handle when making a turn on the back wheels or it will take you for a ride!! i did not need the self propel to go sideways or downhill. without the self propel on you can mow backwards also and just lift the front and and place it down into small areas and it cuts great that way also. and i did not have to repeat areas to get the cut nice like my previous mower which admittedly was a battery powered self propelled reel mower . best yet - the grass looks fantastic.

Great mower.
I got this on sale and I'm glad I did. It wasn't difficult to put together and it's very easy to use (push button start while holding a bar down). The self-propelling feature works well. I have a hilly property where almost nothing is flat, and I find I need 2 8 hour batteries to do about a 25 feet x 80 feet area. I only use the self-propel bar on the uphill. It works amazingly until it hits grass that's 3 feet tall, then it tends to choke up. It's at the upper limit of what I can lift into my pickup without a ramp. I wouldn't want to lift it often.

4 year review
Had for about 4 years. Cuts great and never needed to change blade in that time. I only bought this because I already had 4 other batteries and like 3 chargers. Do not bother if you only have 1 4 ahr battery, you will need at least 2-3 for a quarter acre lot. Battery time is inversely proportional to grass length, I will use 2x the batteries mowing every other week rather than every week. If you have nice thick grass you can multiply the number of batteries you will need by another 2x.Like I said, cut is great, but you really want like 4 batteries for a decent size yard (1/4 acre, with thick grass), unless you are mowing literally every week.

Worst customer service ever
Prior to purchasing a Greenworks lawn mower, I tried to contact Greenworks customer support multiple times to get advice on your products. I called 3-4 times and was on hold for as long as 45 min before giving up. Ultimately, I decided to give Greenworks the benefit of the doubt about your customer service and purchased a Greenworks lawn mower (ML 40L02) on Amazon. This turned out to be a mistake on my part. My experience has only gone downhill from there. Once the lawn mower arrived, I was excited to try it out after charging the battery overnight. The product details claim the battery will last up to 45 min and is appropriate for a 1/3 acre lawn. After about 10 minutes the battery died. I recharged the battery and tried again with the self-propelled feature turned off (to conserve power). The mower shut off multiple times when I cut the sunny portion of my yard that has moderately dense grass that hadn’t been cut for 2 weeks. Again, after recharging the battery, a third time, the mower ran for 30 sec and died again. The battery appears to be defective.Optimistic that Greenworks would be able help me solve the problems and replace the battery, I called customer support again. After 55 min on hold I gave up. The customer service hours are short to begin with so there aren’t many options to try calling at off hours. At work the next day, I tried the online chat and finally got a person who was entirely unhelpful. She refused to do anything to help me because I didn’t know the serial number of the lawn mower. She also refused to let me chat with her supervisor or have someone contact me. She suggested calling the customer service line again but rather than wasting more of my time, I decided to return the lemon of a mower. I also send a letter to Greenworks describing what had happened but the letter to the customer service PO box was returned with no forwarding address given! This is really summed up my experience with Greenworks customer support.

Just OK
It's OK. I would have gone with a different brand but this was within my budget.

Good quality, self-propelled lawnmower had a reasonable price
This is a great product. It cuts my Saint Augustine grass very well. One thing I would recommend is that you buy a second battery my lawn isn’t that big and I use about half of my second battery, particularly when the grass is long. I have had self-propelled lawnmowers before. Some of them have a speed that is way too fast for me. This one has a great walking speed and even if it’s too fast for some people it easily controllable through the power handle, which is right at your fingertips
