Can replace the inner stem without removing the whole unit from the tank.
This was the perfect replacement part for my older, discontinued toilet tank. Replaced the broken part in about 2 minutes. Didn't have to replace the bottom connection, only the inner stem was broken. This part makes it easy to replace without taking the whole unit apart. Works perfectly, very happy!

I feel they should offer JUST the core here as an option.
In my case, the top of the core (the yellow bit) came loose from the core which left my toilet running if I didn't remove the lid and manually press it back in. The full instructions for this required more disassembly of the toilet and removing the tank to completely replace the part. Thing is, the only defect was that cap. Instead I drained the tank, twisted the core 90 degrees, removed it all and installed the new core. All in all it took 5 minutes. If a leak starts I've now got the parts to resolve but for now I'm satisfied that the toilet is working as expected again for a minimal investment of time and money.

Perfect fit
My canister basically blew up. This valve kit fit perfectly. I did have to call Kohler to make sure it would work with my toilet. There were 2 numbers that "could have worked". After calling I found out that this one was the valve they recommend. It was tedious to put in, but once fitted, it works fine.

Factory Original - Perfect Replacement
It was an identical factory original part. Installed in 2 minutes since I didn’t need the bottom portion that goes between the tanks. Fixed my problems with the handle sticking up and the broken fill tube.
