Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

Another take on the Frankenstein tale, I liked it!

Well written, thrilling , and an unusually captivating story!

There is a grand mad excess that triumphs in this film, overriding any of its faults. I go back to it again and again to revel in the brilliant acting, the dazzling photography, and the deliberate and bold intensity. It is very true to Mary Shelley's masterpiece, very true, indeed. And it is also cinematically magical and very simply beautiful. Highly recommended. The great moral of the tale comes through, of course. Artistically, this particular film will probably live as long as films are made and viewed. ---- Things you might have laughed at the first time around, you soon forget. It's the kind of film that haunts you. It's rich and intoxicating. Branagh really is a great genius and this is one of his finest accomplishments.

This movie was ok.

Would you ever think that DeNiro would be Frankenstein? Huh? Guess what. Robert DeNiro defines Frankenstein for the first time. Forget Paris and Forget Karloff. Robert DeNiro brings Frankestein to life in a painful and confusing world, which he rails against with Full Force, bringing down the house of cards which is the House of Frankestein. You do not want to make this guy mad, becasue he has a very good memory and no sense of his own strength. Strong stuff. 4 out of 4 stars. Johnny P.

mary shelley's frankenstein - just like the book but creepy - the book is stronger but the movie is great one on the best on this title - don't want to spoil it - but tim burton's wife hellena bonham carter pulls off the part wonderfully - just get a copy- highly recommended for collecters on frankenstein stuff or old horror movies in general -
