Stable, though doesn't initially feel like it
Bought this for my elderly mom with Parkinson's. The previous toilet rails we used needed to attach under the toilet seat, which cannot be done under her new bidet seat. While this initially didn't seem very stable, because of the bars resting behind the toilet seat lid when it is open, it doesn't falter when she gets up or down. I did wrap a washcloth around the back bars where they rest against the toilet - this keeps it from clinking, makes it fit more snuggly, is more comfortable if my mom sits on the toilet with the lid closed to get dressed, and I can toss simply toss it into the washing machine to clean. I put only 4 stars because the suction cups to help with stability aren't the best and it SEEMS as if it isn't as stable as it really is, which is a drawback as my mom doesn't feel as safe as she is.

Doesn’t fit all toilets.
It didn’t fit around the older toilet I ordered it for. The shape of the toilet tank pushed the open lid forward into a very uncomfortable position when using it. I kept it as it did work with our other toilet. It is quite steady when using and not too hard to assemble. Still looking for one that works with the more convenient en-suite toilet.

Excellent flexibility for all kinds of toilets
I bought this for my dad who is recovering from surgery to repair a broken femur. Most aids for people who need stability to use the toilet require fastening them to the toilet itself, which can be tricky; my dad's toilet simply can't accommodate any of those kinds of aids (pro-tip: think carefully if a fancy *designer* toilet is really what you want when none of the regular toilet seats and accessories will work with it!). I immediately knew this was the right product because it could accommodate a range of widths and heights (awesome), and is so easily adjustable. The only reason it's a 4 star and not 5 for "Stability" is for that same reason - it's not connected to anything, so it can feel a little bit wobbly when just placed on the ground. However, with the suction cups, and when under weight (when my dad is leaning on it to use it), it stays perfectly in place and I have no concerns.Huge kudos to this company for this inventive design. When we put this frame next to the toilet, the whole family exclaimed how well thought out it was.The frame just arrived this morning, and I'll update this review if further daily usage indicates any other useful info.

Well made.
Instructions are brief but I figured it out. Once pieces are assembled and adjusted, it works fine.

Width is adjustable, stability/durability questionable
I am a retired RN and I can only give this adjustable set of toilet rails 3 stars. This item was bought for my husband for his rehab after knee replacement surgery. On the plus side, the adjustable width is ideal for people of larger size, the hand rails are comfortably padded with a foam material, there are button slide height adjustments on all four legs, and with some adjustment to the the frame set-up the side-rails can be folded in for transport. On the negative side, this toilet frame is very wobbly and feels unstable when used even when set-up in the non-folding position. I think that wobble is due to no side-to-side bracing between the front two legs of the frame. It feels extremely unstable if the frame is set-up in the foldable position and then used. When using the frame, equal hand pressure on both siderails works best to keep the frame from slipping sideways, if pressure is applied to only one rail the frame slips. The frame comes with four rubber leg tip covers and two additional wider tips that look like suction cups. The wide suction cup tips may be used on the back legs for broader contact with the floor, but we did not find that that they provided any adhesion/suction to our stone tile floor. Although the adjustable width makes it ideal for larger people be aware that the maximum weight limit on this frame is only 300 lbs. I would not consider this “heavy duty” as most bariatric equipment is rated at much higher weight limits. The last negative is the assembly instructions. They were terrible! The parts and the connection sites are not numbered or identified with a letter designation. So there is no “put part A into slot B”. The few photos that are provided are taken in close-up which makes it difficult to determine what part they are referring to in the scant written direction. It took me awhile to figure out what the black “C” shaped rings were for. They are inserted in holes near the top of the two rear upright supports to lock the frame and to prevent the siderails from folding in against the rear part of the frame. If the frame is set-up to allow folding, there are holes on the rear horizontal support bar where the black “C” shaped rings can be stored. We will “make do” with this toilet rail frame, but stability and durability are questionable.

Great choice for elderly with mobility issues
Easy to assemble. Sturdy and stable. Easy to remove for cleaning and when not needed.
