iFixit Battery Compatible with Nintendo Wii U GamePad

Works great for the Wii U. Easy to install, although you do need to press pretty hard to push down the connector. Went from no battery to hours of play. This is much larger in size than the one previously installed. I also recommend picking up a USB charging cable to ditch the OEM brick.

Easy swap into my Wii U. Battery life was much improved over my old battery. Seems to hold a charge reasonably well and has not had any issues in the year or so that I have been using it.

Use this battery to replace the original battery in my grandson's Wii U gamepad. We followed the directions on the website. It went in pretty easy. He played on the gamepad to drain the battery, then put it on the charger overnight. Seems to last longer than the original battery when it was new.

I think the pin receivers on the battery connector are closer together that the OEM battery. It felt like I was forcing it, and I was afraid of bending the pins on the unit.I eventually got it in, but not without some worry.

The battery was easy to install, and works great. WiiU Gamepad now has hours of play in it!

I got maybe 6.5 hours from a full battery, which is fine I just wish we knew when each battery was manufactured. Installing it would've been extremely easy, but the power connector from battery to gamepad needed to be lifted during insert (unlike the original). Don't try to force it in too much.

Although I generally have had good experiences with ifixit products these batteries just won't hold a charge.

This battery wasn't recognized by the Wii U gamepad. I attempted to re-install it multiple times but still couldn't get it to work. I ended up reinstalling the original battery until I find something better.2/26/2022 Update:Customer service was quick to offer a replacement of the dead battery. I received a replacement and it seems to be working so far. I'll update my review if anything changes.5/8/2022 Update: Battery no longer holds a charge. Charging light flashes when the gamepad is on. When the gamepad is off, the charging light comes on for about 5 seconds, then turns off. I'm going to cut my losses with iFixit and try a different battery.
