My finished basement is maybe 1200sqft.....I assumed this unit was over sized for my needs. After a week of use the unit cannot get the humidity level below 47% ......its set for 40%? I had a different manufacturer model for several years which gave up the ghost so i needed a new unit. It worked very well. After a year it sounds like a tank....very noisy.

*Update 6/16/21* WAS a Solid Unit; failed within 1 year. Attempting to let Kesnos fix the problem
This dehumidifier is very small in design compared to other units and not nearly as heavy. I initially purchased one of these units to replace my Frigidaire that stopped working after one year. The Kesnos unit is extremely quiet (with dual fan speed variation), so much so that using the lowest fan setting, we can happily watch movies in our downstairs rec-room without it bothering us during quieter movie scenes. The touch screen controls are nice on the top part of the unit and overall it's very easy to maneuver. I liked the unit so much I bought a second one for my mother to replace her aging dehumidifier. I would happily purchase from this company again - it's well worth the money! You can't go wrong with this unit. The only suggestion I would have is you purchase your own drainage hose as the one that comes with the unit is somewhat short, but I'll take that shortcoming over units from other brand name vendors that don't last.**Update 6/16/21** Unfortunately, I'm taking this review from 5 stars to 1 - the unit failed in just over a year from date of purchase. I have since emailed Kesnos as their website claims to increase your 1-year warranty to a 2-year warranty. Unfortunately, when I first contacted them, they asked me to go through a series of questions to confirm the unit had failed. I complied and their very next response was to have me either visit their repair facility or ship the unit for repair. I live in Wisconsin - their repair address is in California. The cost of shipping the unit would be almost as much as purchasing a new one due to weight and size.Upon my concern about the cost and lack of customer service (though the emails were responsive), the company offered another option, which was to leave a review of the product, which I had already done when I purchased, but I'm updating my review now to prove to them that the product did indeed fail and their customer service is somewhat poor as they make you jump through hoops just to honor their own warranty.I've had other dehumidifiers fail (Frigidaire for example), and they simply sent me a new unit and asked me to cut the cord on the old one - no need to send it back. It was a very simple process, but this one makes me wish I had purchased a different unit. I'm hoping the company can stand behind their product and make things right, so I'm giving them a second chance, but for $250+ for a dehumidifier, this is awful service. Tread lightly if you're considering this unit. I purchased two of them, one is still going strong, but the other is not. To me, I've spent over $500 with this company and to have to jump through hoops for a replacement is pretty frustrating.**Update 6/21/21**Was contacted by the company after I told them I'm giving them a 1-star review. They asked me to return it to a 5-star review like before and to give them a chance to work with them to fix the problem. I will move it back to a 5-star review for now in hopes they truly stand behind their product and can offer a solution / replacement unit. Check back for updates to see if this review truly stays 5-stars. More to come.

THE BEST!
This is THE BEST dehumidifier! I'd give 10 stars if I could! It's efficient, quiet, easy to use, long lasting. This the 2nd unit I've purchased. The original unit ran 24/7/365 in our basement bedroom and family room for (almost) 4 years before it started to slow down. 4 years, never turned off! It's a little more expensive than other units but it is absolutely worth it. The water bucket is the perfect size. Easy to handle and empty. But it if you need a dehumidifier that works and lasts.

revised review after humidifer stopped working
I gave a good review June 18, 2021 but now waiting to see if Kesnos will honor its two year warranty.. After a year of slow but adequate function in large basement, my 70 pint Kesnos dehumidifier stopped collecting water, running continuously in 55-65% humidity with a lower setting to reduce it. I had an injured ankle so couldn't do much about it. Now will pursue customer service for remedy, who did not reply to my initial email request for help in early summer 2022. Stay tuned .... service reviews say sometimes fixed, sometimes not! This has been an excellent product so far, and pleased with seller's immediate cure of minor defect as requested to fit my unique situation. Surprising and perfect customer service! Meantime unit is very quiet, lighter than most (for senior to get into basement), . . .advice - Remember to leave unit standing upright the required number of hours before turning on. Amazon delivered it on its side inspite of clearly marked up arrows on the package. I suspect with such units some bad reviews come from not respecting this startup instruction. The story:The 70 pint Kesnos humifier, rated for 4500 sf PD253D , is now in use for a few weeks to help previously purchased dehumifier bring humidity in basement down from 70--75% summer humidity. Current humidity is 55% and I believe will continue downward as desired.Use: My 1200 sf basement stays dry during winter from steam boiler there. But each year gets damp with small amount of water seepage after saturating rains starting in the spring. Need dehumidification only half year, and my several year old humifier had gotten noisy and no longer doing the job.Big lesson: I learned to buy a dehumifier with greater rating than I originally thought needed!! first I bought a 30 pint dehumidifier rated for 1500 SF, which worked ... but only brought humidity down to 65 % or so after more than a week running. I timed and measured its output as less than a cup an hour several times, so under my conditions was much less that 30 pints per day.Because difficult as senior with arthritis to return the new 30 pint humidifer out of my basement, which a friend had set up to drain continuously into floor drain, I decided instead to buy a second dehumifier to put close to steps and manually dump its bucket to supplement the first dehumidifier, and be backup. Then I could run second new dehumidifier only as needed, to bring down high humidity initially andthen after saturating rains. And let newly installed smaller humidifier on "continuous drain" maintain lower humidity at lesser electric cost most of the time.So far this plan seems working well.Minor defect and major good Seller response:However, after first poor output experience I timed and measured the Kesnos unit also. At 65% RH, it's output was only 20-30pints/day. This time I contacted Kesnos seller by chat, explained my situation and timing/measurement results and was immediately offered a refund or replacement, my choice. A pleasant surprise, but by now I had hip replacement surgery and (living alone) no way could deal with a return. *AND I LIKED THE KESNOS UNIT VERY MUCH. *So I explained my post-surgery incapacity and asked for what seemed fair. A credit to reduce cost to what I paid for a unit that was rated to 30pints/day. Seller chat rep got off line to consider exception to their standard offer, refund or replacement. And then to my delight agreed. I am a very happy camper!!FYI- I was offered a small credit a few weeks later (not part of the partial defect resolution) to write this review. I am writing because I really value detailed reviews when I buy unfamiliar items. My best advice .... pay more to get a unit rated to extract more than your size space calls for. I suspect that would have eliminated my convoluted solution to seasonal basement humidity. Yet excellent Kesnos Seller response made me very happy.
